I would advice you to ditch php-nuke 8.0 and get RavenNuke at www.ravenphpscripts.com

Place the files from;

blocks > your website/blocks (like Guardian pointed out above)
images (2 images) > your website/images

Using the HTML editor in the nuke blocks module, I can add simple HHTML.
Ive just tried to add an image using :

The simple code remained but ...
