I tried changing it from 160 to 148 so it would fit inside the actual block but when I do I get 3 odd characters above the block.

Those characters are normally caused from using wordpad or notepad to edit your files. Normally, it doesn't cause problems, but I would suggest trying a better editor like notepad++ , context , dreamweaver, etc.
