Hi Josh,
I've emailed you twice but you haven't answered. After all this time, since freethoughtmedia.com, buyers can't download shows. You told me other people with Goddaddy don't have problems, but I still get 'fraud attempt' anytime someone buys a show. I'm really begging for some help or at least let me know if there is an upgrade. Anyone else who can help me would be appreciated.
Please help!

I have been having the same problem with "fraud alert" . Have been trying to get an answer for 2 months now. Posted in the forums and sent PM's I think the problem is in the response from paypal. whenever the total ends in 0 it drops the 0 and the store reads it as fraud total. The store is great but for the price and having to renew the license every year, the customer service will probbly keep me from renewing on both my stores. Am Considering going back to OsComerce, atleast its free and for that price i can handle the minor bugs. |

I didn't know you even had to renew the license. I don't have a problem paying for it but my store hasn't worked since I purchased it. The owner tried to help me at first but haven't heard from him in a long time. I might have to change stores but the adding of 132 items is going to be a headache especially when my problem is probably just a minor bug fix. |

Miguel, yes, this script works fine for other people on GoDaddy and I've bent over backwards for it to do so, mainly because of you. I would still recommend that nobody use godaddy for hosting for several reasons. If you would have switched to a different host long ago when I suggested it you wouldn't have these problems. But thats neither here nor there and that doesn't solve your problem. I've fixed it for you a couple of times and it somehow always ends up breaking. I'm not blaming you, but I can't control everything.
Now, in your shop admin, there is a link that says "Version Check". Have you checked that in the last 3-4 months or ever? There is a new version out, but I would also like to point out that these are your first posts on my site. In todays world, email is pretty unreliable as there is so much spam that when a legitimate message gets flagged spam I may not notice.
Back to the upgrade though. You can download the latest version by going to http://nukecoder.com/shop_purchases.html.
Upgrading is pretty easy, upload the new files to your server, overwriting the old ones, upload the hotfix(also available on your purchase page), then run the installer from your browser and choose the upgrade part. If you need help with this just let me know, but you will need to upload the new files for me through FTP. I will also give you some credit for a new license since you've been having problems for a while now.
mralikorn,
I'm sorry for the lateness on the fix. Recent Family/Personal problems that I would rather keep private have kept me from the computer. My kids are the most important thing in the world to me and as a father it is my duty to drop everything when they need me. I'm very sorry that the timing has affected your store with this problem. On top of that paypal's sandbox has been super slow lately which makes testing take forever(like 3-4 days per test x at least 10 different tests). But enough of that, I have worked up a fix and I will send you a PM with more details. |

Thanks, Gotcha! I'll give it my best shot sometime this week. You know I'm an imbecile when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Let's see what happens. I'll keep you posted on this forum, since, like you said, spam filters are dangerous things.

I might need some help. I've downloaded the files. But if I replace 'images' or 'storage' from the ones on my FTP won't it erase all the stuff I already have there? I'm terrified I will lose a whole bunch of data. Sorry for the stupid questions. You might have to help me, Gotcha. Maybe walk me through this when you have time. I think I'll screw something up. I also have no idea how to upgrade from my browser. I'll give you my FTP access and everything. I'm really scared since I have no idea about this stuff.
Oh, and I hope that all went well with your children during your crisis.

Well, I was able to get the paypal fix (an amazing act for an Internet Troglodyte like me).
Maybe this will help but this is what I get when I get the 'Fraud Attempt' email ever tiime someone tries to buy the show:
Business Email Tampering
Business Email Recieved: miguel\_o\_conner@hotmail.com
Business Email Expected: miguel_o_conner@hotmail.com
A Fraud Attempt has been detected by The Digital Shop.
Someone probably altered the form before it was sent to Paypal.
Just to be safe, this purchase has been completely blocked. Please
check the info below to make sure I haven't flagged a legit purchase

Maybe there is a simple fix for this. Also, I noticed the store runs on Linux. Don't know if that makes a hill of beans.
As for the rest, I've been looking at it and don't know where to start. I'm really sorry I'm such a moron.

Looks like PayPal is seeing the underscores in your email address and treating them as illegal characters and they are being escaped with backslashes - which means the emails never match. |
