Ok got my functions.php and it contains some admin functions and some user functions. Is it wise for me to split these two? I mean the admin side and user side use some of the same functions, but on the admin side are menu's and edit etc etc.

I ask these kind of "ethics" ?'s a lot as seeing as I am fairly new to coding compared to some.

Yeah, in that situation I would split them up. Keep all the common functions together and keep the admin specific functions in a separate file and it can be included only when needed.
