Hi All,

I am currently in the middle of changing hosts for my sites.

I am wondering if it is possible to redirect and use the mysql for my new host while people are still using my old host (The new host's Ipnumeber etc hasnt resolved yet).

If it is possible, I can avoid extended downtime while the new sites resolve to their new home and not lose info in the database in the meantime.

Any help/advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Nelson

well to use the mysql from you new host, you would have to know ip/hostname and then, if your host allows it, go in and allow connections from your old host to your new host.

Just make sure you have a good backup of your old site before you do anything.
