I just downloaded v1.1, and set it up on my site. It worked fine, but I tweaked it a few ways, and have some other ideas I'd like to suggest for the next release.

* I tweaked mine to make a seperate SQL sub-folder, similar to the Files subfolder. It makes it easier if I want to FTP down a whole folder at once, without grabbing the other folder as well.

* I would like to see the time formats in 24-Hour / Military time, not 12+AM / PM. When you view the listing of files, the are not sorted properly by date since the AM / PM part comes after the time.

* Automated backup of the files would be nice! Wink With the Sanity worm replacing files, this would be a great option.

* The ability to do a restore would be great - pick one from the ANB Control Panel, and it restores it for you!

* The option to exclude directories is great. I have a photo gallery in my site that is 300+ MB in size - it's excluded, of course! It would be good, though, if there was an option to do a "back it ALL up" in one shot, including all the normally skipped directories, for those occasions when you want to archive the whole site. While I don't do it often, an occasional full backup is always good.

Thank you for a wonderful Mod - please, please keep up the great work!

Thanks for the feedback, I really appriciate it!

I think I'll make subfolders for files and sql configurable in the admin panel along with the date format.

I didn't think auto backup of files was necessary because they don't change(most cases) near as much as the database. Just backup the files whenever you add or edit them and all should be good.

The resore option in the admin panel is already on the drawing board but didn't make it into this release. Plus if your site gets hacked bad enough, you may not be able to get to the admin panel. I may include a stand alone emergency restore script in a future release.

The backup all feature is a good idea but I don't know how well it would work with 300+ mb of files. If you do a full backup without excluding any folders, please let me know how it goes.

The only reason I think of backing up files on a regular basis is that my site uses a lot of graphics that are changed / added frequently - being a Live RPG, we have 30+ photos each month (hence the 300 MB gallery), plus maps, badges, etc. that are always being created & added. No rest for the wicked... Wink

I'll make it optional for those that need it.
Also can you try doing a full backup with your 300mb folder included and let me know if it works ok?

I'll try it during non-peak hours tonight. Wink

Wow - not only did it work, it did it in record time! My server's cPanel has a backup function, but this is *much* faster. Also, I think it left out a lot of extraneous crap the other one didn't - the resulign gzip size was much smaller (only 240 MB).

I was worried it might time out, but it didn't - it worked fine. I did *not* include the db dir - is there a reason it's defaulted as not being backed up when you install ANB?

Just added the 1.1 update - no issues there.

Two additioal feedback thoughts:

1) Have the dates display as "year-month-date" so they sort properly over a year change. While this isn't that big a deal, I spotted it over the 2004-2005 New Year's Day. Wink

2) In the directory listing, display the file size as well as the file name.

Thank you, and keep up the good work!
