Ive set max upload in php.ini to 20MB and server has no problem with uploading filez that size when using ftp or other Java upload applet.

But I have now tryed numorous times to upload a file which is 15mb using map manager and everytime it just hangs and hangs and nothing happend until long after it either gives an "page canot be displayed page" or page just jumps back to the upload page where I then can fill in all the information again and file is not uploaded.
Same file works fine uploading with ftp or other Java applet.

I got Map Manager to work with a 6mb file? Is there a limit to how big files can be with Map Manager? After I changed the Max file allowed to 20 in php.ini it shows 20 MB in Map Manager so apperently it can read the change. But again it just times out and white error page appears or it jumps back to upload page.

Anyway you can get me going here so it works? I need to be able to upload maps upto 20 mb

Thanks

I also have run into similar issues involving uploading files and the browser timing out or receiving an "unresponsive script" error.

I dont believe that this is a direct Map Manager related problem, I think it may just be a combination of the clients' upload speed capabilites, their browsers' built-in timeout limit or even the webservers' client connection time limit.

I am currently looking into to it to see if I can definitively find out what is at the heart of the issue.

That would make sense if it was the case but I'm 10/10mbit on my home connection so got absolutely no problems with bandwidth and like I said Ive tryed a few other upload applets and none of those had this problem.
My problem however is that I NEED something like Map Manager 2 cause It's game mods Im hosting on my website and to be honost there really isn't any alternatives to using Map Manager 2 for this purpose.
Ofcourse you can use simple download managers but you don't really get all the Map/mods specific options which I love about Map Manager 2.
One applet I tried and found really good for uploading only is this one:
http://www.utechsoft.com/products/uupload/
Try and take a look at it, maybe it would be possible to incorporate this java applet into your Map Manager 2. It's free for people when not used for commercial use and sinse you don't charge for you MM2 I guess that means you too.
I could incorporate the java applet myself and just tell ppl to upload the mods using that, and then afterward putting the url to the file in MM2 and it is supposed to be done.
But then another problem arrises and that is if I then wants to upload a screenshot wth that url link it gives me "internal error occured, we are sorry for the inconvenience - 2" and if I try to just add the url with description it takes it but no new addition is beeing made to the MM2. It doesnt show any new upoads ready for moderation and it doesnt show any new files either in MM2 so basicly its like it just disapeared.

Are you hosting this site from home?

Your home local network speeds have no bearing on your external internet download/upload speeds. As most ISP's cap the upload speeds, it often does cause issues.
My local network at home runs at 1000 Mbps(local) and thru my ISP(external) I get 15 Mbps download speed and only 768 Kbps upload.
