For the shop popup window that appears to dl a file I've been gettin a lot of moans about the download not starting, having to re-enter the security image etc. As a result I'd like to remove the popup altogether and use the normal link, what should I remove from downlaod.tpl/download-free.tpl to do this?

With the shop, there is no "normal" link to the files as they are not directly accessible(when set up correctly).

But if you want to do something like have the download start directly from the "Your Purchases" page, you would just add &start=1 to the end of the download link in your_purchases.tpl.
For free downloads you would add the same thing except the links will be found in item.tpl and main.tpl(you would have to disable the captcha or it won't work).
