never mind I found my issue however now after I have attached the image they do not display

make sure that the thumbs folder exists also and that the folders are set correctly in the shop's configuration.

example:

In the configuration you have
Item Image Path: modules/Digital_Shop/storage/shop/images

Then make sure that directory exists and has write permission. Also make sure that the "thumb" directory within that folder exists and has write permissions.

So both of these directories should exist and be writable:
modules/Digital_Shop/storage/shop/images
modules/Digital_Shop/storage/shop/images/thumb
