First, I recognized that you're leaving the nuke scene, and had a few questions, as I had been thinking of purchasing this.
1. Do you still plan to continue support for Digital Shop, and if so, in what capacity?
2. If no, do you still intend to charge $35 USD, in addition to a yearly $12 USD?
3. Given the uncertainty of your support, do you still intend to include Ioncube? Considering that a yearly renewal must be made, what kind of guarentees do I have that Ioncube will just shut the scripts down 1, 2, or 5 years from now?
Using this program instead of coding one myself would save me countless amounts of time. But primarily because of the last two questions, I find it exuberantly prohibitive to someone who NEEDS a guarantee that this software will continue to work without question. |

1 In other forum posts here made by Gotcha, he has stated he will continue to support Digital Shop and is working on a completely re-written Shop
2 The current $35 fee is for the script and I believe also includes the first years license. The $12 you refer to is for the annual license renewal, since all upgrades, bug fixes etc are provided for as long as you have a valid license. This is actually a pretty common practise with professional, commercial software.
3 I cannot answer that one, though it is always a legitimate concern for anyone purchasing any encrypted script.
I bought a commercial, encrypted script myself some years ago, which was quite expensive and before the first license renewal was due, the developer had disappeared leaving me with a years worth of useless data, lost advertising revenue and of course a none functioning website. Because the loss was so great, I spent several days decrypting it and it is still in use today (with my own bug fixes and added features). |
